Kirtland's Warbler 2

Samantha Earley

These species have recently been de-listed; that is, they have been taken off the endangered species list. I thought that it was pertinent to celebrate those victories in the time of COVID. During a time when there was so much death and strife in the country and the world, it seemed important to showcase success stories in environmental regeneration. All of these species have been brought back from the brink of extinction because human beings worked to understand why they were becoming extinct, find governmental/organizational solutions to the problems with their habitats, and band together to create sustainable practices to allow the species to thrive again.
