Sip N' Sketch
My creative work captures a very simple moment of happiness - colored pencils, a sketchbook from my favorite stationary store, hot cocoa, and a peanut butter cookie. While I'm a very untalented artist, I find myself at peace when sketching and coloring. Throughout the pandemic, I turned to art (painting and drawing) as a creative outlet. By myself in my yard or outside at a café, I engaged in this activity when I needed to feel present, or at other times - escape the present into my creations. I don't draw often but I sometimes do when traveling as a way to sit with a new place and sketch what I see. When feeling so isolated and trapped, drawing during the pandemic transported me back to the freedom of coloring while traveling.
