And then there is the teaching of art. How to take a necessarily one-on-one learning strategy and move it online entirely at a distance. There are things that translate and things that just don’t work. Most of what was missing was motivation. Some of that was conquered with private one-on –one zoom sessions. But some of it just needed to be relieved of the stiffness and formality of the written word, uploaded assignments, and awkward online discussions. Call it “stir crazy”, but the solution was to offer “motivational videos” inserted into the course materials.
