Nature and animal-inspired, handcrafted jewelry 7
The work I'm sharing is all sterling silver jewelry that I have created over the past two years. I am a jewelry artist and creating necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings is how I express my creativity. During the pandemic I found myself striving to capture things of nature that I find beautiful and inspiring - trees, flowers, animals and birds. Focusing on these, reminds me of what is meaningful to me and that there is so much beauty to be found in this world. I create each piece by hand, sawing out metal shapes, filing them smooth and then adding details by hand. Then I add layers and volumes using my torch to solder elements together. Stones are either incorporated as wirewrapped beads or bezel set by hand. Their colors and shapes also add to the scene that I'm trying to capture in my designs. Each one of these creations I'm sharing is unique, original and one of a kind, and it is my hope that the person who buys my jewelry will feel a similar sense of peace and joy as I did when I was making.
