Item description
A digital screenshot of the front cover of the book "Surviving the Forest" by Adiva Geffen. At the top of the cover is the author’s name and below it, the book title in large orange text. Below this is a decorative line dash, and then the phrase “a WW2 Historical Novel, Based on a True Story of a Jewish Holocaust Survivor.” The cover image is a creative digital illustration of a young woman and a little girl holding hands while walking along a dirt road. They are facing away from the viewer. The young woman is wearing a long orange dress, tan shoes, and has her dark hair in a low bun style. The little girl is wearing a dark blue dress, tan shoes, and her long dark hair is in two braids. They are surrounded by a foggy forest of evergreen trees. Above them are the silhouettes of two planes in the light blue sky.

Strength Through Female War Survivors' Stories 3

Julie Marino

During the pandemic I was diagnosed with breast cancer. While undergoing treatment and dealing with sheltering in home, I turned to reading. I read books about WW II specifically females who survived the holocaust or were heroic spies in the war. Their stories inspired me and gave me strength. One of my favorite quotes is from a woman who lived during the holocaust "with perseverance, faith and hope, one can overcome almost anything."
