Item description
Three glass sculptures of similar design, two in the front and one in the back. The largest sculpture in the back is on a brown base. The sculpture is made out of clear yellow knitted glass, and begins rounded on the bottom, leading up to a thinner circular shape, like a neck. The neck is curved to the left, and has seven leaf-like shapes encompassing a round, textured orange core, similar to an unbloomed flower. An LED light rod is encompassed within the sculpture, illuminating the inside and flower. The two sculptures at the front are similar with a smaller design featuring five leaf-like shapes and different textured orange cores.

Untitled 1
I work in glass sculpture. During the pandemic I felt myself trapped. My work in knitted glass became cage-like, with interior spaces as metaphor for shelter. I began working with LED lighting, having illuminated objects being contained within a cage - the cage of social distancing during the pandemic. The light inside was me, trapped, but projecting optimism out into the world.
