Next to it, in curly handwriting, are the words “Teeny mushroom June 24 2020 outside the house by the holly tree.” The drawing is done on the page of a daily planner, with “2020” at the top of the page and lines for every hour going down horizontally.

These are pictures from my many lock-down walks. At a time of extreme anxiety, I tried to photograph and sketch flowers and mushrooms that evoked humor and grace.
