Item description
A collage made of many pictures of nature. There are two main rows of pictures; on the top is a field, a snow-covered forest, and an orange tree. On the bottom is wheat, a frog, and rows of green vegetables. In between the rows is a picture of a plant in a red pot and the sentence “Pandemics come and go but the garden goes on” next to a painting of a green flower.

Pandemic Projects 4: Collage
Sherry Queener
Collage: Pandemics come and go but the garden goes on. The title of this collage says it all for me. We and all creatures of our kind live from the earth. Disasters or pandemics do not change that truth. To be in touch with the earth feels natural and (forgive the pun) grounding. I cannot sit still in ordinary times. With all the time that the pandemic gave us and with all the stress that came as well, my hands and my head needed something productive to do. Feeding my family by cooking and by raising my garden was therapeutic. Writing was also therapeutic in giving me something to concentrate on besides news of the pandemic.
