Gene's Bluebird Houses 1
I’ve been making birdhouses during the pandemic. There are a lot of different bluebird feeders, some of them are very simple and open. I made this one really flexible in design so that it can cater to different people’s needs depending on how they want to mount it. Depending on where they want it, they can hang it on a shepherd's hook or a tree, or they can mount it on a railing, etc. I also designed a baffle to keep the critters out.
Each birdhouse I make has it’s own design—I call them WoodCraft—and it has an image of the bluebird on the front, which I’ve wood-burned on. All of the lines are really simple and orderly, but each aspect of the birdhouse has a purpose: the size of the hole is perfect for bluebirds; the grooves help the birds to cling on to get in and out; it’s built to let the rain flow over it without getting the baby birds wet…
