Gene's Bluebird Houses 3

Gene Wasserman

"I know the exact moment when I started to love bluebirds. My wife's father has forty acres up north, and we would camp there. One day, my wife and I were sitting out by a huge oak tree. The fire was going and we were cooking some eggs. All of a sudden my father-in-law said “Look over there, there's a bluebird!” The sun was shining on it and the bird just lit up. It was electric blue. My first thought was “I have got to have one of those.'' And the only way to have one, it turned out, is to attract them by putting up a nest box. So I started making some of these birdhouses.
Realizing how happy it made me, I wanted to share it with other people. I thought it would be more fun if people could make their own birdhouses..."
