How the Little People Stole My Wampum

Patricia Shackleton

How the Little People Stole My Wampum is an outcome of Patricia's storytelling, photography, and artwork. The Anishinaabe (Ojibwe. Ottawa, and Potawatomie) will never know what all they have lost of their culture. This book is an attempt to create culturally sensitive new stories. I put a blank canvas on a wall and then see then entire drawing -- I just fill in the lines. I assembled the drawings and then the stories emerged. My personal inscription is "Like a pebble in a pond, it is my hope that this book creates a wave of smiles." This is a small thing. If it is my fate not to do great things, then I want to do small things in a great way.
