Item description
An abstract watercolor and ink painting on watercolor paper. The background is a light gray, filled with patches of dark gray and blots of black. A large, light gray oval fills the center of the piece. The edges of the oval are tinged with a red-orange color. Within the center of the oval are two orange gem shapes aligned vertically on top of each other. The top gem has a smaller white shape at the top of it, dripping down and leaving a pool of white at the bottom. The gem underneath has a smaller black shape at the bottom of it with a thin line of black reaching up towards the top gem. Orange blots bleed out around the two gems.

Each piece is a Watercolor created during my Fall 2020 semester of my undergraduate studies. I created these pieces along with others that were meant to evoke different emotions I was feeling during the quarantine while still attending my university through remote online education. Each painting has a different meaning and speaks to a different part of quarantining. Whether that be social interaction, nature, germs, emotions. They are all a reflection of what I was internally feeling that was difficult to express. When an audience views them I like to hear the interpretations because the pandemic affected everyone so differently. So, one may speak to you in a different way than it spoke to me and that is ok. All of our processes and emotions are valid. I hoped doing this series it would help me collect myself and understand what I was working through and I hope it can help others do the same.
