Item description
A necklace made from welded silver with light yellow gemstones, pictured against a black surface. The necklace is unclasped, designed to rest on the neck with the most weight on both sides of the piece. They are decorated with water-casted silver, creating organic, leaf-like shapes. These pieces of silver surround the gemstones at the end of the necklace on both sides.

Michael Opipari

My jewelry begins with water-casting, which involves dropping molten silver into water. This process, completely random, often duplicates shapes and forms found in nature.

These water-cast components are then micro-welded into larger configurations, allowing me to retain the desired level of detail, unobtainable with soldering or casting. Finally, traditional and non-traditional metalsmithing techniques create organic, one-of-a-kind objects.
