Item description
A four-panel digitally drawn comic from the webcomic Junicorn. The title Junicorn goes vertically down the left side. Below it is the caption “By Jude Nevermind, co-written by Junicorn Algebra” and next to it, the caption “Conversations with my kid, an incredible person who also happens to have Autism and Albinism.” Panel 1: Junicorn’s mom, a human with blue hair, and Junicorn, a white unicorn, sit together at a table with a piece of paper in front of them. Junicorn’s mom wears an orange tank top; Junicorn is only wearing blue undies. Junicorn’s mom asks “Where’s your shirt?” and Junicorn replies “I’m in my own house!” Panel 2: Junicorn’s mom says “So am I! So is Daddy! But our nipples aren’t just flapping in the wind.” Junicorn replies “I’m in my own house! And it’s just. It’s just too hot in here for shirts.” Panel 3: Junicorn’s mom says “Sigh. Okay… Write the verb.” Junicorn replies “But I’m not your servant!” Panel 4: Junicorn’s dad, a brown bull, joins them and asks “How’s the quarantine schoolwork going?”. Junicorn appears to hide in her mom’s mouth. Her mom says “SOh ghoold!” as Junicorn complains “MOM! I’m hungry for lunch!!!”

Kate Cosgrove

A weekly comic posted on Instagram. Copious note taking, digital art and digitizing and including elements that my daughter has drawn - ie cars, houses, her invisible baby brother Baby Ethan.
Mostly just home life during lockdown and complete online school (4th grade) of too much togetherness and also going through puberty with my child. Autism and hormones are a new dynamic in our house.
