Item description
A photograph of an abstract painting, sunlight partially illuminating the piece, the natural texture of the canvas and brush strokes are visible within the light. The painting has numerous geometric shapes overlapping each other to create shapes within the different blocks of color. The shapes take up the majority of the space on the canvas. A group of rectangles, squares, and triangles come together to form a larger rectangle; more angular shapes are stacked on top of the rectangle, the points and angles of various triangles form a taller, irregular rectangle with a negative, triangular space within it. The shapes are in blue, tan, and white; all outlined in black. Including the negative space and encompassing the large group of shapes are dark brown.

The Fragments Collection 7
These pieces were created over the Winter 2022 and Spring 2022. In a lot of ways it’s been as though the world has fallen to pieces, through my work I attempt to bring the broken pieces together again. I lost my Mother to Covid this past Winter, and I was creating the collection during that time. My Mother loved that I am an artist. Creating during that time gave me a sense of peace in the middle of that great loss.
