Item description
An abstract painting of shapes and forms in hues of blue, orange, yellow, and gray being pushed and pulled by trails of black and white lines. A blue box in the upper left corner overlooks the scene like a camera lens. Under it, a white zig-zag snakes over to an orange triangle. A variation of curvy and bent lines over the page resemble what could be faces. Behind them, some of the colored shapes mix or dissolve into others.

Making bodies of evolving work during the pandemic has been nurturing, revealing and extremely exciting. When the world felt like it had come to a complete stop, creativity, flourished. Beautiful things always come out of bad moments in time and sometimes I wonder if the pandemic had not happened, would I have been this dialed into my artistic practice? My artistic career was initially started from lack of productivity and boredom before the pandemic. In the pandemic, I am constantly reminded of the importance of moving my body and keeping my mind sharp through these tumultuous times. Something as simple as the concept of getting out of the house and creating something new when everything feels so stagnant has been incredibly powerful for myself and my peers. In almost all of my artwork and submitted work here, I think about my best friend Jack who I feel lives through my paintings.
