Jen's fence 3

Jennifer Ramirez

During the times of Covid, when we were all locked down, I decided to turn my privacy fence (I live on a corner of 2 main streets in my subdivision) into art with one specific reason in mind: to make people smile. Each month (starting in March of 2020) I would create a chalk drawing that would span the length of the fence. I used chalk because it was easy to wash off and then create another drawing. The fence drawings were specifically linked to trying to help people make it through the pandemic. Most of them had fun 'catch-phrases' written with them. For example: The dinosaur mural said, "Who else wants Covid to be extinct?" The first chalk drawing was focused on Easter: I drew little chicks, bunnies, Easter eggs and an Easter basket. The drawing was such a hit that I continued with other fence drawings.
