Redwood Neighborhood

I use photography to capture how light drapes itself over natural as well as man made objects. "Redwood Neighborhood" contrasts the notion of bloom and fade with the short life beauty of the Agapanthus against the long-lived trunk of the redwood tree contrasted further with the man-made redwood fence in the background.

Throughout the series of images, she presses the mask to her face repeatedly as the mask crumbles into smaller and smaller pieces. It crumbles away at her touch, even as she attempts to hold it to her face. Throughout the series, the mask becomes more fragmented. In the last image, the mask falls away displaying the artist’s face.
