Item description
A photograph of a baseboard with sunlight through a window shining on it. The sunlight is broken up by the frame of the window creating squares of sunlight on the ground and wall. The wall is painted white, but is severely chipping and cracking, leaving an odd texture to the wall. Directly below the baseboard is an exposed carpet tack strip. The floor is unfinished wood, with a visible and heavy coating of dust, concentrated where the wall meets the floor.

Old Paint, Ancient Light
Tom Hoffman
Taken in an old abandoned building in McKeesport Pennsylvania. The building was once a bustling center of commerce but now is completely abandoned - like much of McKeesport. I'm somewhat of an astronomy buff and I read that when the photons I captured were created in the Sun’s core, the last ice age was just ending and human civilization was just about to start. A lot has happened in those 100,000 years.I titled the photo Old Paint, Ancient Light.
