Jack and the Beanstalk
"Jack and the Beanstalk" quilt block: I am a huge fan of fairytales, so for this project I chose to use familiar characters in slightly unfamiliar situations. Here, Jack has gotten a job that pays slightly above the ceiling for him to lose his public benefits, but not enough to replace them. He is weighing the choice between the dignity of work versus his ability to afford food, housing, and medical care.
