Item description
A square from a quilt that depicts the fairy tale “Snow White”. The block has a white patterned floral background with pink flowers with green stems across the fabric. To the right of the block is a mirror with a paisley border and blue satin fabric resembling glass. To the left is the Queen, Snow White’s evil stepmother, representing a caregiver injecting poison, coming from a poison apple, into the feeding tube that Snow white, sitting on a chair helplessly, has. The Queen has shoulder length black hair and is wearing a golden crown and purple dress, all made out of fabric. Snow White has fair skin, black shoulder-length hair with a red bow on top, a paisley blue shirt, and yellow pants, all made out of fabric.

Snow White

"Snow White" quilt block: This image is the first one that I saw in my mind's eye when conceiving the quilt. According to the Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN), over the past five years, more than 650 disabled people have been killed by their caregivers. Here, the Magic Mirror on the Wall assures the Queen, Snow White's stepmother and caregiver, that she is an angel of mercy as she injects poison into Snow White's feeding tube.
