Item description
A photograph of a wooden fence decorated with detailed paintings of dinosaurs. There are two dinosaurs, each quite large and touching both the bottom and top edges of the fence. On the left is a bright blue T-Rex with very short arms and hind legs with three claws each. It has wide eyes and is lurching forward with its mouth wide open, revealing large sharp teeth. On the right is a bright green stegosaurus with wide eyes, a beak-like mouth, and two rows of spikes that trail from its neck to the end of the tail. In front of the fence is a strip of grass, a sidewalk, and then a larger strip of grass. A house and some trees peek out from behind the fence.

Jen's fence 1
Jennifer Ramirez
During the times of Covid, when we were all locked down, I decided to turn my privacy fence (I live on a corner of 2 main streets in my subdivision) into art with one specific reason in mind: to make people smile. Each month (starting in March of 2020) I would create a chalk drawing that would span the length of the fence. I used chalk because it was easy to wash off and then create another drawing. The fence drawings were specifically linked to trying to help people make it through the pandemic. Most of them had fun 'catch-phrases' written with them. For example: The dinosaur mural said, "Who else wants Covid to be extinct?"
