Kenneth Hunter

After making many paintings and many mistakes, there were a few that were successful and more that had good moments but not cohesive. So taking the recovery process further, the pieces that were not successful were then cut and repurposed into new forms, applied onto a new surface, and continued on with the painting process.

The pandemic experience only made the feelings of loss and loneliness develop quicker and deeper but also provided the space to lean into the loss and work through it thoroughly without the opportunity for distraction to take it's place. If it wasn't for the space provided by the pandemic, I don't think I would have been able to process grief as well as I did.
