All these pieces are described under the image. they are all paintings that were done and inspired by Lisboa. I had fled here to escape the disregard in the USA for safety measures to protect me from COVID.
The outdoor ambience and beauty of Lisboa inspired me to create back in my studio.
These paintings allowed me to search for meaning during the Pandemic and keep my sanity during lockdown.

The pandemic experience only made the feelings of loss and loneliness develop quicker and deeper but also provided the space to lean into the loss and work through it thoroughly without the opportunity for distraction to take it's place. If it wasn't for the space provided by the pandemic, I don't think I would have been able to process grief as well as I did.

The Path (Still)

State of the Nation

To Mend a Broken Heart 1

Angel of the Pandemic: Dear Lord, I am Tired

Someday We'll Dance

Hanging on or Letting Go

Breaking Free

AHISTORIC WALK

Make a Wish

QUARANTINE

This pattern has been covered with a thin coat of white paint, so it is very faint. Over this, gray rectangles of various sizes are arranged to create uneven blocky structures. Many small bright red worm-like shapes wriggle around the blocks.

The Vibrant Village 1

A brightly colored abstract painting, acrylic on wood panel, inspired by the city of San Antonio. Lines and shapes predominantly in shades of yellow, green, teal, red, and orange create a warm and vibrant image. Hidden inside of the painting, abstracted by the busy shapes and lines, is a bicycle, a bus, a flower, and several suggestions of city grids, parks, and buildings.

The Vibrant Village 3
