The Path (Still)

Connie Manna

The Path, The Tunnel and WCP are acrylic paintings borne of the desire to express my feelings about some of the places people would frequent before the lockdown. These images and others are grim reminders of a world we took for granted; A popular walking path, now deserted and ominous; No trains in The Tunnel, to take anyone anywhere and the shadows of performers on an empty stage playing to no audience in WCP.

The pandemic experience only made the feelings of loss and loneliness develop quicker and deeper but also provided the space to lean into the loss and work through it thoroughly without the opportunity for distraction to take it's place. If it wasn't for the space provided by the pandemic, I don't think I would have been able to process grief as well as I did.

The pandemic experience only made the feelings of loss and loneliness develop quicker and deeper but also provided the space to lean into the loss and work through it thoroughly without the opportunity for distraction to take it's place.
