Item description
An acrylic painting on a wood panel. Towards the center right is a small, yellow home. The ground beneath it is a deep purple gradient that becomes lighter the closer it is to the house. Above the house is a deep blue gradient that also is lightest the closer it is to the house. Vivid green trees surround the horizon.

Nancy Rose Blvd.

I have uploaded two images of paintings.
The two narratives that the paintings consider are not limited to times of lockdowns and restrictions. In these works, I consider the emotional connections and contradictions to the circumstances, events, and places.

The second piece titled “Nancy Rose Blvd.”, considers the vibrant reality of any home and how the home became a center point during the pandemic. In some instances, the restriction of being homebound created unsafe and dangerous situations and in others gave rise to increased creativity and joy. In either case, the focus of the lock downs became the home or residence.
